CERV - Conference on Electric Roads & Vehicles
February 16-17, 2012 · Newpark Resort & Hotel, Park City, UT USA
CERV focuses on a bold, new approach to transportation that
integrates energy, vehicle, and highway infrastructures into a more
flexible and convenient network of electric roads and vehicles.
Electricity has a unique ability to transform travel but must extend
beyond charging batteries in parked vehicles to technologies that
deliver energy wirelessly, on demand, in real time, and to both
stationary and moving vehicles.
The Conference on Electric Roads & Vehicles (CERV) focuses on a
bold, new approach to surface transportation that integrates energy,
vehicle, and highway infrastructures into a more flexible and convenient
network of electric roads and vehicles. While electricity has a unique
ability to transform travel, electric transportation must extend beyond
charging batteries in parked vehicles if its full potential is to be
utilized.
Technologies that deliver energy wirelessly, on demand, in
real time, and to both stationary and moving vehicles must be included.
Unlike today’s transportation system, which is fueled almost exclusively
by oil, a transportation system based on electric roads and vehicles
will:
- Enable robust competition among several primary energy sources
- Reduce vehicle energy consumption
- Eliminate the range anxiety associated with electric vehicles
- Eliminate mobile-source emissions
CERV will provide scientists, engineers, managers, policy-makers, investors, and other interested private sector stakeholders with a forum where they can present, discuss, and learn. The two day program will include an executive panel discussion, keynote speakers, and presentations in areas such as:
- Wireless Power Transfer & Vehicle Integration
- Broader Deployment Considerations
- Codes & Standards
